AOL describes MOLOCH as "an open source, large scale, full packet capturing, indexing, and database system"
If you want to know more about the Moloch software go

So why are we making a big deal about this?
MOLOCH (also Molech, Mollok, Milcom, or Malcam) is the biblical name of a Canaanite god associated with child sacrifice.
In the Bible, children were sacrificed in a Tophet, a shrine reserved for child sacrifice, outside of Jerusalem to Moloch’s satisfaction…
Medieval French rabbi Schlomo Yitzchaki, otherwise known as Rashi, wrote an extensive commentary on the Talmud in the 12th century. His analysis of Book of Jeremiah 7:31 painted a vivid picture of the sacraments of Moloch’s worship as related in the Hebrew texts:
“Topheth is Moloch, which was made of brass; and they heated him from his lower parts; and his hands being stretched out, and made hot, they put the child between his hands, and it was burnt; when it vehemently cried out; but the priests beat a drum, that the father might not hear the voice of his son, and his heart might not be moved.”
In addition the logo for the software is guess what? An Owl.
Why on God's green earth would they name their software and referenced to the GOD of child sacrifice?
